1) Economic, will having this degree no matter how much meaningless the information advance that old paycheck?

2) Intellectual, will this information make understanding your life better?

Yeah, what they said. If it's that bad, don't continue. I went back to school for one reason and one reason only. To learn more and because I actually enjoy it. There isn't anyone else I've been doing this for. I really love working in labs and can see myself doing this for the rest of my life. I couldn't make that career step without the formal education. Sure it's just a piece of paper, but I don't see how else I could get into the industry without some background info.

Honestly it's never been about the money for me. If I get a decent paying job, cool. I could go back to doing maintenance work for what I was making before and still be happy. I got to learn what I set out to learn. It was a lot more complicated than I originally anticipated, but I'll be damned if it wasn't some of the most interesting shit I've ever come across.

I quit school for my ex and right now I'm thinking of going back cause I want to do what I have dreamt of doing for a long time. Forensic pathology. I have always wanted to be a county coroner or something like that. Forensics in general is very fascinating to me though. I have worked in a lab before.

So, Crazy, I think the moral of my story is... do what you want to do. Not what other people expect you to do and what you think is right. Follow your heart, unlike me. [img]smile.gif[/img]

But you followed yur heart too in a way, didn't you? Your romantic heart anyhow. Or maybe that's like following someone else's heart. Why did your ex want you to quit school? Seems kind of controlling.
